Looking forward to all the people who will be outraged about this pick without considering that it’s entirely possible that she’s simply the most qualified person for the job.
(She’s the current Pennsylvania Secretary of Health, former Pennsylvania Physician General, is a professor at the Penn State College of Medicine.)
You may remember her from last summer when Trump legal advisor Jenna Ellis decided to be an asshole for no reason. https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc-out/trump-campaign-adviser-won-t-apologize-misgendering-trans-health-official-n1236399?cid=sm_npd_nn_tw_ma
She’s just been trying to do her job for years, but every once in a while someone on the right will come out of nowhere just to attack her. For instance, here’s the head of the Texas GOP
Anyway, I’m sure that there will be people who go, “Identity politics!!! Identity politics!!!” but if you yell “identity politics” whenever someone from a marginalized group happens to be appointed to a post and/or run for office, you’re not just opposed to “identity politics.”
