Since Pakistan and Turkey are producing a TV series “Lala Turki” based on Khilafat movement. I would suggest a TV production to honour the life of Bi Amma who was the mother of Muhammad Ali Jouhar and Shaukat Ali. She led the Khilafat movement when his sons were arrested.

THREAD
“Boleen Amma Mohammad Ali se
Jaan beta Khilafat pe de do”
(So spoke the mother of Muhammad Ali
My son, lay down your life for the sake of Khilafat)

This famous urdu couplet was sung in every nook and corner of sub continent irrespective of the cast, creed and religion...
[1]
...during the Khilafat Movement which was launched for the restoration of the Ottoman Caliphate by the Muslims of subcontinent during the British rule. Its the story of Abadi Bano Begum, popularly known as Bi Amma who played a leading role in the Khilafat movement.

[2]
Bi Amma became the first Muslim woman of modern times to actively take part in politics. In Rakhahari Chatterji’s book, ‘Gandhi and the Ali Brothers: Biography of a Friendship’, Maulana Mohammad Jouhar talks about her:

“Suffice it to say that, although she was practically..
[3]
..illiterate, I have, in all experience, of men of all sorts of types, come across none that I could call wiser and certainly that was more truly godly and spiritual than our mother.”

[4]
On hearing rumors of Mohammad Ali's possible release from jail after amnesty and a secret deal with the British. Bi Amma said,

“Mohammad Ali can’t even think about begging forgiveness from the British. If he does so then my old hands have enough strength to strangle him”
[5]
While her sons were in jail, this brave woman kept alive the fervour for the Khilafat Movement. It was the first time that a Muslim woman addressed a political gathering wearing a burqa. Maulana Muhammad Ali wrote down the words Bi Amma once said to him:

[6]
Boleen Amma Mohammad Ali se;
Jaan beta Khilafat pe de do

(The mother of Mohammad Ali says;
Son, sacrifice your life for Khilafat)

Tere Saath hai Shaukat Ali bhi;
Jaan beta Khilafat pe de do

(You have support of your brother, Shaukat Ali;
Give up your life for Khilafat)

[7]
Tum hi ho mere ghar ka ujala;
Tha isi waastay tum ko paala

(You are the light of my home
But this was the day I raised you)

Kaam koi nahi is se aala;
Jaan beta Khilafat pe de do

(No bigger work than this
Son give up your life for Khilafat)

[8]
Bi Amma had no formal education yet she became a freedom fighter. Its unfortunate that she is no more remembered. She is the embodiment of the genesis of Pak Turkey brotherhood.
