A Thread on what these votes were actually on: https://twitter.com/higginsdavidw/status/1351280092127899653

votes on the controversial sale of the Oscar Traynor road site to a private developer which would have seen "affordable homes" costing €385,000. voted down by every party except FG+FF

The second vote to delay the decision, again voted down by every party except FGFF
10MAR2020 18 separate votes on rezoning various sites into housing such as: Glenview industrial estate, white heather industrial estate, clearwater retail park, goldenbridge industrial estate, mornington bussiness park etc
As anyone who has heard of the ballymun flats knows, zoning housing where there are no services is ridiculous housing policy. While the rezoning of certain areas such as a site at wolftone quay were supported by all parties, most were voted against by SF, SD, I4C and PBP
Here is cllr Tina McVeigh @TinaMacVeigh speaking on how housing standards, communities, the amenities they need and their input in the planning process is being ignored 👇
numerous cllrs pointed out the lack of concern for the social aspect of placing housing in these areas (availability of schools, green areas, parks etc) and it was also pointed out how various "residential" zoned land in the liberties was just being used for luxury student accom
If you have the time go look at the votes and some of the areas that were being proposed (some with flooding risks!!). If fianna fáil and fine gael are going to keep proposing nonsense housing policies then they shouldn't act surprised when it is voted against
