unpopular opinion but I actually think moffat is shit at writing the doctor, and when he isn't shit at writing the doctor he sidelines the doctor by writing overly complex plots filled to the brim with plot holes so he can pretend to be smart
like idk I just see that man as a bloke way too high up on his own horse, he's average at best, and yeah he might be creative, but are we ignoring the fact his solution to trapping the doctor in the Pandorica was to break every rule of time travel the show ever had?
and that he erased 10 years of established doctor who canon for the war doctor? that he sidelined 8? despite also making big finish canon in the bbc universe which ultimately also unravels the plot of the Doctor's Wife because 8 met the TARDIS in big finish before??
he likes to write these big extravagant plots, most of them are ripped from classic who though, and when they're not they RETCON classic who instead like. I used to love moffat but since watching Sherlock and Dracula I know that man can't write unless he's stroking his own ego
