The government has forgotten students, a thread.

The only mention we get from the government is when we are used as scapegoats for hotspots in COVID-19 cases despite having been instructed to go to universities in September. The government used us to cover up their blatant mismanagement of the ongoing pandemic.
We continue to receive a sub standard education desipte the promise of 'hybrid' teaching. Reduced contact hours, pre-recorded lectures and virtual seminars are no replacement for face to face learning, even by admission of the University of Edinburgh:
And yet we continue to pay £9250 per year for what? No in person teaching. No access to university facilities. No university experience. Stressful online exams. We are being used to financially prop up our academic institutions.
Most lecturers continue to try their hardest to provide a sense of normality and quality teaching despite the circumstances, but I would hope that they would agree with us that we simply are not receiving what we are paying for.
There has been no financial provision for students in the last year despite the governments readiness to furlough millions of workers and support business. We cannot work and we can't claim universal credit - there is no provision yet we are stuck renting properties we can't use.
The job market is dire yet our student debts continue to mount ever acquiring interest. This isn't just insult to injury, it is a disgraceful injustice
We are in the midst of a student mental health crisis and yet the government won't even mention our existence at lockdown announcements or give us any indication of what our future holds. They dodge any questions regarding further education students.
Gavin Williamson has managed to get so caught up in U-turns around schools and colleges that he has no regard for millions of students. Perhaps be he's only read the first half of his job description.
It's astonishingly difficult to protest these failings and injustices in a pandemic, where we are dispersed across the country and locked-down unable to physically protest.
Students across the UK should stand in solidarity and hold the government to account for it's abhorrent mistreatment of us, we are the forgotten group during this pandemic. They don't want us to be heard, but we will
Not only do we deserve major reductions in tuition, we deserve to be treated fairly as a vital part of our society and to be supported as the pandemic continues. This government will regret using is to escape their failures. We cannot and will not be forgotten
