Today we launch #WorkingforBabies on how local 0-2 services responded to #Lockdown1. In #Lockdown3 its findings are as relevant as ever. Download the report: https://1001days.org.uk/workingforbabies but here is an overview of the key findings: 1/9

Our partners @IsosPartnership surveyed 235 leaders of pregnancy & 0-2 services about delivering services in #Lockdown. 98% said babies they work with were impacted by parental anxiety, stress or depression. 2/9

The report identified a #BabyBlindSpot. 78% of respondents were clear that the government in their nation had not done enough for the under 2s. 3/9

80% of 0-2 service leaders said that some babies they work with had experienced increased exposure to domestic conflict, child abuse or neglect. 29% said many babies they work with had been impacted.  #WorkingforBabies 4/9

Services supporting 0-2s were highly depleted during the national Spring lockdown #WorkingforBabies #BabyBlindSpot. What was on offer during #lockdown1 varied largely between services. #WorkingforBabies #BabyBlindSpot 5/9

But #COVID also offered opportunities to build on new-found strengths and momentum and create a stronger offer of support for babies. Professionals reported that the crisis catalysed better understanding of families needing support #WorkingforBabies 6/9

#Coronavirus also meant some 0-2 services improved use and implementation of virtual technology and led to forging of new local partnerships and collaborations with important longer term benefits #WorkingforBabies 7/9

One message that cuts across the findings is the value of human connection across a system. Local services + systems with strong connections across agencies, areas, staff working at different levels & communities were best placed to respond to #COVID. #WorkingforBabies 8/9
