The term "toxic masculinity" derives from a false association of masculinity with a deeply disordered interpretation of it, brought about by the effeminacy and selfish materialism of liberal "Me Generation" men's attitudes.
Sadly, there is a certain volume of truth to the allegations of the term "toxic masculinity".

This disordered Me Generation masculinity, with its lack of virtue, fortitude and integrity, has established itself as the masculine ideal to the culture.
Conversely, those that use the term "toxic masculinity" are more interested in redefining the masculine to a "straight gay friend" caricature, even as contrary to what masculinity is in an ontological sense.
