Ep 40 Otto Suwen/ A Reason to Believe
We start with Otto’s past he has a divine protection which his being able to talk to animals, he wasn’t able to communicate with his family for a while but when he was finally does through a paper that was heartwarming

Having a divine protection is rare so obviously you don’t want many people knowing you have one because they might want to use you for their own benefit
He listens to his brother and doesn’t use it in public but his younger brother listens in and tells everybody about it, they don’t believe him so Otto shows them but that causes them to get angry at him
After that he seals off his power but he ends up using it again later on

He uses it later to prove his innocence that he wasn’t with that random persons girl, he finds out that she’s a hoe and calls her out for it only for him to get kicked out the village and so he runs away
He starts living a new life as a merchant and is doing pretty good until Betelgeuse comes and captures him, Otto has had it rough poor guy
Later on we know that Subaru and his group saved him and that’s the end of this flashback
Back to the present we learn that divines protections have a certain limit that they can be used (at least for him), and most likely will kill you if you use it to many times

Then we start the fight against Otto vs Garfiel but well Garfiel easily overpowers him so ram came to help
I really liked this moment where they show that even though Subaru isn’t really anything to great they trust him, and they looking forward to how much he can grow
Garfiel gets pissed and transforms into his tiger form, ram is actually able to put up a fight, but she still gets injured in the process, that’s basically it for this fight we know something happened to them but we’re not really sure what
That’s the first part done Otto was already best boy but this just makes him even better, onto the next part it shouldn’t be as long as this one
Subaru has found Emilia and Emilia is upset that at the fact that he didn’t get mad at him and that he didn’t keep his promise to stay with her
Then Subaru starts talking back and he starts telling her all these hurtful things that he can’t put up with her uselessness but he still loves her and everything about her,
Emilia snaps and we see a new side of her that we haven’t before and Subaru keeps on on saying the same thing over and over until she asks why didn’t he leave
He can’t really tell her why but I’m guessing he went to talk to echidna by the fact he can now enter the trial gain which we wasn’t able to do at the end of the first part
After, we learn that Emilia is afraid of getting her memories back and she’s afraid that she’s going to change
Subaru recalls the thing his mom told him and he’s saying that no matter what happens to her, he’s always going to love here but Emilia doesn’t believe him so Subaru has to prove it
Then we get the kiss, I don’t have much to say expect it was perfection
The feelings got though and Subaru understands that she would be scared but no matter what he’ll be by her side and in those memories there’s something precious in them but it’s up to her to find it
Finally we’re at the end of the episode and Garfiel is waiting out there all bloody I hope that nothing to bad happened to Otto and ram
To end it off this episode this episode was amazing and it’s my favorite since it made me cry a lot and we got some development between Emilia and Subaru so I couldn’t ask for more but don’t get me wrong parent and child is just as good
