Although Walz has never worked for a biz let alone run one, most inventory mngmt has switched to whats called Just-in-Time (JIT). This means as soon as a product comes off line it goes thru supply chain & into customers hands. Gone r the days of stockpiling in warehouses.

JIT means the feds r wasting vaccines by keeping them on a shelf. Even if there could be a stockpile of vaccine inventory, it wasnt the plan. As soon as its ready, its sent to states to use. EXCEPTION: a portion was held back by feds to ensure 2nd dose was available. But...

...Once the feds saw that vaccines could be made at a steady rate without production issues, they didnât need to hold onto the reserves, so they released them, knowing that when the second doses came due, new vaccines would be rolling off Just In Time.

At the same time, @govtimwalz was asking the federal government to open up the criteria beyond 1A, in part because he was struggling getting vaccines to 1A people (in part because many didnât want it).
The government granted Walzâs wish/called his bluff.

Feds said âOk, u can give it to anyone about 65." This didnt magically make more vaccines, recall theyre rolling off the line, going into supply chain & being sent to states JIT. Feds dont make vaccines & besides holding sum early 2nd doses in stock, they dont stockpile.

So now @GovTimWalz has two problems. (1) he still canât get his vaccines out and (2) he has many more people eligible, so there no excuse to for not finding a willing person to be vaccinated.

Instead of admitting things arent going well, Walz blames feds for doing what he asked. Thus, his feigning anger at them. He takes his talking points from @washingtonpost story claiming feds had already depleted their supply when they expanded what states could do. BUT...
