Yes, indeed. Joe Biden is so popular that we're having an inauguration with no attendees, surrounded by the US Military, despite him having received votes from roughly 50% of the US adult population. This totally checks out. https://twitter.com/spectatorindex/status/1351304615606697986
Look, I still think Joe Biden is going to be our president at 12:01 PM on Wednesday, but I can forgive people whose alarm bells are going off, because nothing that is occurring now makes any sense.
The idea that 25,000 military troops are needed to secure DC for an inauguration, when New York City has only 40,000 sworn officers for a city five times as large is lunacy.
Someone posted yesterday that it's a show of force. For whom? Right-wingers? That it's to show who's in charge.
I don't know much, but I do know that surrounding the federal seat with more troops then are currently deployed in war zones does not tell me that they feel in charge.
And, real talk, the thing that's going to get people killed in the next 20 years is normalcy bias. The idea that life is just going on as normal when it clearly isn't. And, most of the time, when those ideas get in your head, you should listen to them.
Remember on 9/11, 94% of the people stayed in Tower 2 after Tower 1 was hit. Only 6% of the people got the fuck out of Dodge immediately. 600 people above the 77th floor died because they didn't use the 16 minutes and 17 seconds they were given wisely because of normalcy bias.
When something from deep inside you tells you something is wrong, don't talk yourself out of it.
TL; DR - you could do worse then deleting your Facebook and Twitter before tomorrow just in case something stupid happens and neighbors start looking for people to blame. I'm going into the city tomorrow. I'm not riding in on a MAGA hat.
I tend to think Alex Jones is a doom and despair salesman, but he's right. The American experiment is over. But the country is too big and too well-armed to be effectively conquered federally. You have 16 minutes and 17 seconds. Use them wisely. Build. https://twitter.com/JoshLekach/status/1351752659372367874
