Taqlid works by one choosing to follow the scholar they believe is the most knowledgeable and that he brings you closer to Allah (swt). Sadly there are schisms nowadays that exist within the Shia community:“Oh you are a Khameini, you are a Najafi, you’re a Shirazi, Fayyadhi”
Such schisms are a poison in our community. We now have people who build mosques on the basis of the Marjah they follow instead of it being an institution of learning for everyone that is able to attend. Groups attend these mosques and abstain from other mosques.
This is a major problem in our community, because at the end of the day, these Marajah will never allow us to have a situation where we judge each other on the basis of an individual’s Taqlid.
Ultimately we want to follow Rasullulah ﷺ and the Ahlulbayt.

Another point which is prevalent in our community, which is elevating the status of Marajah to Masum. Our esteemed scholars themselves have not made such dangerous claims about themselves, so why have we resorted to doing so.
The Fuqaha are aiming to ascertain Allahs (swt) law in the absence of Imam al Hujjah (atfs).
