People say that Frank Lampard was fortunate to take over Chelsea during a transfer-ban with the lack of expectations that followed it. Sure, that might have been the case but he has sure as sh*t been unlucky to have a pandemic happening in the middle of his 3-year project.
Especially after over-performing the way that he did in his first season. The goal-posts has clearly shifted from the board's side, which would be understandable had this been a normal season. However, it's not, something that can be seen quite clearly on literally...
everyone else's results. No one is doing great. No one. Therefore the goal-posts shouldn't have been shifted. At all. If anything you should take everything that happens this season with a pinch of salt.

Despite the difficulties of this season in general terms,.....
Chelsea still had their best ever Champions League group-stage, they still have the longest unbeaten run in all competitions in Europe's top 5 leagues this season(17 games) and were even top of the Premier League after 12 games, having scored the most goals, conceded the...
joint fewest, had most clean sheets and the best goal difference. All of that following a season where they over-performed by finishing in the top 4 of the Premier League, making it to an FA Cup final and qualified from their group in the Champions League.
Not to mention the very successful transfer-window(in which Frank played a MASSIVE part). They also finished last season as the 3rd highest scorers in the Premier League, a place they still keep so far in this season.

Surely some slack is deserved? No? Why the f*ck not?
Sacking him now is quite frankly undefendable. If they were to do that I would like a formal explanation from Roman and the Chelsea-board telling us how much they moved the goal-posts and how f*cking ignorant they clearly are to the ongoing situation.
Why would you sack a manager who has done all that after 6 games of bad form, FOLLOWED by 2 wins?

Have the players downed tools? Absolutely not. Have the (important)fans turned on him? 90% of them haven't. So I ask again, why would you sack him now?
To people that will say "where was this energy for Sarri?"

For starters, Sarri wasn't sacked(even though he would have been if Juventus didn't want him, which meant money for us).

Secondly, the (again, important)fans did not support him and most of them wanted him gone.
In addition to that, several key players threatend to leave, had he stayed. Not to mention the fact that he had no interest whatsoever to give any of our academy players a decent chance.

Another one of the things Frank was asked to do was to promote more of them.
Now, 1,5 years later, no less than 5 academy players has been made KEY members of the first team thanks to him, with more still to come.

Which brings me to my last point, politics.

We all know Chelsea(Marina) takes a lot of pride in selling players for a profit...
(or at least not a loss) so naturally she would want fringe players to play as much as possible so their values won't plummet.

Now, it's not random that certain players has gone from not playing at all to suddenly starting every 2nd game, if not more after it became...
"public" that certain, again fringe, players were unhappy with their lack of playing time.

Now, I get the board's view that these players have to play but majority of those players are players that Frank SPECIFICALLY asked the board to get rid off in the summer...
and THEY failed him. Now THEY are demanding those players to play while simultaneously DEMANDING results. I'm sorry but you can't have it both ways.

You're forcing him to play players he doesn't want to play. Players that he knows makes the team worse and then...
you also expect him to get results????

Either you take that loss of yours in the market and see results on the pitch(which is what EVERYONE else wants) or you get that f*cking profit of yours but accept that results won't be great for a while.
You can pick one of those, you can't have both and the last thing you should do is to blame the manager for "poor" results when you are the ones forcing him to use broken tools.

Good night.
