I try not to do much prediction, but I'm 100% convinced that one thing that will be true of both the neo-Trumpian conservative Protestants and the uber-woke progressive Protestantism is that both groups will mostly abandon the local church in the coming years. https://twitter.com/NewYorker/status/1351173502158721026
The first group will abandon organized religion because they believe it corrupted by the usual suspects of QAnon imagineering, and they will largely abhor the rapid demographic changes going in global Christianity (I.e., becoming a highly African and Asian religion).
The second group will abandon organized religion because they believe it is an instrument of intersectional oppression, and cultural strangeness of Christian doctrine will be discarded in favor of an expressionistic spirituality that's desired to the degree it is indefinable.
Maybe I'm wrong, but my guess is that most evangelical pastors are (and have been) prepared for what to do/say about the second group.

It's the first group they haven't seen coming.
