I finished season 2 of ST Discovery, I gotta say I really like it. There's a bit too many speeches & rallying cries, but the characters are deep and interesting, really buy the love stories & personal connections. I think the casting is excellent, especially Saru, Pike, Burnham

Also the timer ex machina I don't know I love, so many of the stories are driven to wrapping up the hour, but it's great how they integrated the terran empire season 1, and the antiheroes are great. I genuinely buy the villainy, the moral conflict, and the high stakes

The self created chaos in many of the scenes I think is silly, we have a timer & we are using 3 minute speeches, then rushing through building stuff is silly, & the engineers knowing how to solve every problem quickly is also kind over the top, but the writing drives to purpose

Tig nataro is great casting too btw, and the assortment of weird aliens I couldn't possibly enjoy more. Give us weird aliens and show us human relationships with them! This is not to imply tig nataro is a weird alien, just supporting characters are wonderful all around

@NomeDaBarbarian had a great thread the Terran empire mirror verse is most likely to. Be the main earth timeline & I didn't get it as much til now. But after watching the last four years, hard to argue we are closer to that reality than the enterprise utopia, & that kinda hurts

Still I am looking forward to season 3, this was the fastest trek I've really gotten into, and I hear season 3 is kinda great, but I thought the first two were very good. So tldr, watch more star trek
