They cycle between eating, pooping, crying, and sleeping - at any time of the day or night
This is why you MUST sleep when baby sleeps. I used to do other stuff when baby was sleeping and I was always exhausted

If baby does not latch onto the breast properly, you may develop cracked nipples (ouchie of note). Also baby may not feed adequately and end up crying from hunger
So please make sure the latching is correct

#RootingReflex - touch baby's cheek or lip and baby will open its mouth in preparation for the breast. You then put your areola in baby's mouth. Not the nipple. Baby knows what to do thereafter (unless there is some or other impairment)

How will you know baby has had enough?
Baby will either fall asleep or release the breast. Please keep baby on one breast until this happens. I used to swop baby from one breast to the other when I felt my breast was "empty". Big mistake

Foremilk comes out first. Kinda watery and quenches baby's thirst
Hindmilk comes out later. Fattier than foremilk. Satisfies baby

Teats - rub with coarse salt to get rid of milk residue
Rinse thoroughly

If you have a microwave/electric bottle sterilizer place water, bottles, and teats in it and microwave as per instructions
Otherwise you place bottles and teats in a big pot and boil for 15 mins
