Some common questions about my new book #bettingonyoubook published last week.

A thread.
1. How many books have you sold?

The answer is JESUS CHRIST I just published the book six days ago.

I think the answer is MORE THAN YOU, but I won’t have reliable numbers for a few weeks.
2. Did you send it to @chrissyteigen @Oprah @ReeseW @tyrabanks @TheEllenShow and <insert IG influencer here>?

Yes. Even though it’s COVID, we’re all getting together next week with Michelle Obama to discuss marketing strategies because they’re totally blown away by my writing.
3. Are you going to be on the @joerogan @richroll @BreneBrown and <totally hip and unknown to me> Podcast?

Yup, you know it. I’m talking to you right now because I’m in-between A-list podcast shows.
4. Are you going to do a book tour?

What? Approximately 4000 people die from COVID each day.

I’m currently touring my home office, my family room, the kitchen and the bathroom.
5. You must have bad luck to publish a book during an insurrection.

Something is always bound to happen. Good ideas are good ideas. If I did my job right, my book will have a longer shelf life than the Trump presidency.
6. Will you have a party when this is all over?

Fuck yes.
7. I think I can write a book. How hard could it be?

It’s not hard at all, buddy.

Good luck to you.
8. Why didn’t you self-publish? I heard traditional publishing houses don’t do anything.

Oh you heard that? Ok.

AndI didn’t self-publish for the same reasons that I don’t do surgery on myself: I like people who have expertise.
9. Seriously tell me — how many books do you think you sold?

Honestly, I have no idea. Looked okay on Amazon the other day. Will know more soon. But if I only sold 22 copies, I’m proud of the effort. Humbled by all the love and support. Grateful for every copy sold.
10. What’s next?

I’m working on my next project called #CorporateDrinker about workplace drinking cultures, addiction, and success at the office.

Yes, there will be true tales of debauchery and reflections on my problems with alcohol.

Feel-good book of 2022/2023!
Everybody keeps asking when I'll be on @TODAYshow @GMA etc. as if that's natural for business authors and it just makes me dream of the day when I wake up, give out some wise advice about jobs, and throw it to @alroker for the weather.

You know—how other authors do it. 😂
