lol we should have a conversation about this kind of wording

...and why I, a poz, would likely not date someone like this. 🙃
It's cute for you that you're "willing" to date us gross poz folks...it truly is.

But this popular idea that it's specifically our duty or obligation to "protect" everyone else is condescending, and it actually reinforces HIV stigma and serophobia.
It's already been proven that the highest risk of HIV transmission comes from people who believe themselves to be negative. Nvm that several other things can be transmitted sexually.

You should be "protecting yourself and others," regardless of what you know your status to be.
This directly relates to my issue w/ the idea of "HIV+ ppl should disclose." Yes, I agree we should...AND...

People who believe themselves to be negative should be proactive about their own sexual health, e.g. disclosing when you last got tested and your general sexual practices
That this idea of "protection" almost ONLY ever comes up when talking about poz folks reinforces the idea that we're inferior, "dirty" or should be engaged with skepticism/fear.

You should be "protecting yourself and others" regardless of what you know your HIV status to be.
One thing we've seen over the past year is that a LOT of people (vast majority, presumably HIV-) do not give much of a fuck about their own overall health.

Y'all going to packed clubs in the middle of a panfriedchicken w/ no vaccine...how about EYE need protection from Y'ALL
