Du Bois's last chapter of Black Reconstruction is quite appropriate. As a Harvard PhD, I think that he is qualified past and present to speak on the topic.
And a reminder of why ASALH, the Black History Movement and professional career of Carter G. Woodson (again another Harvard PhD who could cogently respond past and present to this report)
And because the #1619Project has its roots within the African American intellectual tradition. Here is another fine book that can address the recent findings.
And lastly, I recommend this classic text on how such reports have been used for silencing the truth and popular memory that is deemed incovenient for political agendas. Fin.
