Happy birthday to Cary Grant today. I felt the need to stay away from the twitter machine today so I occupied myself by going through Cary Grant's films. 😉

Not sure I'll get through them all today but...

Gonna be a long thread! Buckle up!
This is the Night (1932)
I don’t think I’ve ever seen this, and now I really need to. Roland Young, Charlie Ruggles AND Cary Grant? Sign me up!
(and hmm a robe, how’d that gif get there)
Sinners in the Sun (1932)
Merrily We Go to Hell (1932)
Devil and the Deep (1932)

Hmm I’ve never seen this wonder what clip I should use…. Oh.
Blonde Venus (1932)
Hot Saturday (1932)
The pic of Randolph Scott & Cary Grant celebrating their birthday on set w/Nancy Carroll was most likely taken during this film. Robe nonsense alert: That gorgeous robe Cary wears in that photo was probably his because it is not the robe he wears in the film.
Madame Butterfly (1932)
She Done Him Wrong (1933)
The Woman Accused (1933)
The Eagle and the Hawk (1933)
Gambling Ship (1933)
I'm No Angel (1933)
Alice in Wonderland (1933)

😉
Thirty Day Princess (1934)
Born to Be Bad (1934)
Kiss and Make Up (1934)
Ladies Should Listen (1934)
Enter Madame! (1935)
Wings in the Dark (1935)

that hair tho
The Last Outpost (1935)
Big Brown Eyes (1936)
Suzy (1936)
The Amazing Quest of Ernest Bliss aka The Amazing Adventure (1936)
Wedding Present (1936)
When You're in Love (1937)

Cary smoochin' a puppy!!!
Topper (1937)
The Toast of New York (1937)

Why is he so pretty (don't answer that)
Bringing Up Baby (1938)

Not one of my favorite Grant movies but he's in glasses, so....
Holiday (1938)
Gunga Din (1939)

Is that an elephant trunk in your...
oh never mind.
Only Angels Have Wings (1939)

Is it warm in here?
In Name Only (1939)
His Girl Friday (1940)
My Favorite Wife (1940)

I love this face so much.
We're into the 40s, we're like half way there!

The Howards of Virginia (1940)

I've never even heard of this film, but....
The Philadelphia Story (1940)
Penny Serenade (1941)

Just typing that film title made me cry 😂
Suspicion (1941)
The Talk of the Town (1942)
Once Upon a Honeymoon (1942)

When I do things like this, I'm always surprised at just how many films of the actor I haven't seen yet. Haven't seen this one! Looks like fun, so I need to watch it.
Mr. Lucky (1943)
Destination Tokyo (1943)
Once Upon a Time (1944)
Arsenic and Old Lace (1944)
None but the Lonely Heart (1944)
Without Reservations (1946)

I love this movie so much!
Night and Day (1946)

color Cary Grant >>>>>>> b&w Cary Grant
Notorious (1946)
The Bachelor and the Bobby Soxer (1947)
The Bishop's Wife (1947)
Mr. Blandings Builds HIs Dream House (1948)
Every Girl Should be Married (1948)

...but not every girl should watch this movie 👎

(It's a cute enough movie but this premise is well... meh)
I Was a Male War Bride (1949)
Crisis (1950)

This one doesn't get a lot of air time, and it's a little different than his typical outing but it's worth seeing at least once.
People Will Talk (1951)
Room for One More (1952)

This scene MELTS ME.
Monkey Business (1952)

If you haven't seen this, I can't recommend it enough because it's funny, adorable and Cary and Ginger are smokin' together.
Dream Wife (1953)

This scene with Cary in a robe and a dog, is the only good thing about this movie. So just watch this gif over and over for an hour and 40 minutes, and you'll have a better time than watching the movie. You're welcome.
I'm up to the mid 50s Thank GOD

To Catch a Thief (1955)

Tanned, wet, shirtless Cary >>>> .... oh who am I kidding, any version of Cary is a good one...
The Pride and the Passion (1957)

I'll be honest I've never heard of this movie before today. But Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant and Sophia Loren? Also, another appearance of his gold chain of his that you can see in 3 of his films. (This, Room for One More and To Catch a Thief)
An Affair to Remember (1957)

Blink and you'll miss the robe in this one. Come to think of it, it's entirely possible you get to see his gold chain in this one as well...
ONLY TEN MORE STICK WITH ME

Kiss Them for Me (1957)

I need to see this one. Suzy Parker!
Indiscreet (1958)

Loads of great scenes from this movie but you KNOW I had to include the robe one ....
Houseboat (1958)

Cary Grant and Sophia Loren. 🔥🔥🔥

Bonus any movie where Cary gets to act with kids....
me doing this thread
North by Northwest (1959)

Hmmmm
I wonder, I wonder....what scene will I include for this movie....it's such a difficult choice....
Operation Petticoat (1959)
The Grass is Greener (1960)

HOW HAVE I NEVER HEARD OF THIS ONE

Mitchum *and* Grant??? I need to see this, I don't care if it's good or not. AND A ROBE!
That Touch of Mink (1962)
Charade (1963)

"You know what's wrong with you?"
"No, what?"
"NOTHING."
In the home stretch!

Father Goose (1964)

Man, I LOVE this movie.

Also see tan and rumpled gray-haired Cary Grant. There could be a correlation.
Walk Don't Run (1966)

His final movie is a remake of The More the Merrier, where he takes on the Charles Coburn role. I know some people don't really care for this one but I love it.

Oh wait how did I choose THIS scene. I can't imagine.
Well there you have it. All of Cary Grant's films in gif form to celebrate his birthday.

If you joined me on this little run today I appreciate it. It was a fun way to escape the day, though when I started I thought "73 films isn't so many...." 😂

Happy birthday, Cary.
SIGH
I had the gif, I had it written in my notes, and I STILL forgot Sylvia Scarlett. I'm so annoyed with myself. *insert many curse words here*

So just pretend that it's in order in between The Last Outpost and Big Brown Eyes.

Sylvia Scarlett (1935)
TRIPLE SIGH

I can't believe it, but I neglected to include The Awful Truth. It was in my notes, I thought I double checked, I had the gif all ready to go but someone alerted me that I did not include it.
I hate myself. This bothers me more than you know.
The Awful Truth (1937)
