My wife's great uncle was the first Black man to be a Head Coach at a previously all white HS in WV.

James Jarrett was his name.

We are blessed to have been able to buy the house we live in off of his daughter and to have kept it in their family.
In 1957... just one year before he became the HC at Charleston High the KKK burned a cross in their front yard.

This newspaper clipping about it that we possess was delivered to them with the handwritten note full of racial slurs.
That little girl in the paper was who we bought the house off of.

This history is living...

This hatred was not "a long time ago"...

It was in our friends, families, and neighbors lifetime.
Stand up to hatred at every turn. Share the voices of Black people in your community.

Being nice isn't enough. Not being racist isn't enough.

You must always be anti-racist.
