THREAD: Let's take a look at 'Shooting For Survival' a mid 60s FBI instructional film for police & FBI agents.

The primary weapon shown in the film is the .38 calibre service revolver. This one looks like a Smith & Wesson Model 20. [I'm not a revolver expert though.]

2/
The film begins with a vignette of a lone police patrolman chasing an armed liquor store robber. He makes good use of cover as he advances down an alley.

3/
In another vignette an officer takes cover behind his vehicle. Revolver drawn he's positioned himself behind the off-side wheel of his car for protection against ricochets.
Wise move. Because his rather nice hat takes a ricochet round.
An FBI instructor with a very nice stylised FBI cap on demonstrates how ricochets work with a shotgun.

6/
He shoots a clay target on the floor and the shotgun slug continues on, parallel with the ground, to strike the target behind it.
