THREAD 🚨:

@MarkFinchem’s story in regards to the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol has been bothering me for the past couple weeks.

Here’s a little thread on why:

1/
In Finchem’s statement, he mentions that he was scheduled to meet with Congressmen from Arizona (Biggs and Gosar) and was invited to speak at an event scheduled at the Capitol ( #StopTheSteal), but he missed it because Trump’s speech went longer than expected (shocker lol)

2/
Trump’s speech began around Noon and lasted exactly 1 hour, 13 minutes and 19 seconds.

Finchem explains that he then walked from the Ellipse to Capitol Hill, which is at least a 48 minute walk.

3/
Finchem states that he got down to the Capitol at 1:45, where he then heads to the “event” that was scheduled by his comrade Ali Alexander (insert “the wooooorst” GIF)

Note- that pic of them is from AZ #StoptheSteal Rally. Ps- Hi @BretRbrts/ @SonnyBorrelli/ @anthonyKernaz

4/
While Finchem is on his Walkabout, the Capitol is full-on under siege. @_esaliba posts that at 1:58pm, the east side of the Capitol perimeter is completely overrun (props to you if you're starting to notice the timeline inconsistencies)

5/
also, according to @JakeSherman and @_esaliba, the east side of the Capitol is completely out of control sometime around 2:20pm.

Full on insurrection.

6/
So while this is all happening, @MarkFinchem is walking from the Ellipse to the location that Ali Alexander mentioned on his Stop the Steal website.

Do you notice the issue yet?

7/
Finchem says in his @AZHouseGOP statement that he “did not learn of the Capitol penetration (heyyyyoo) until shortly before 5:00pm EST…”

Cool! He’s all good!

Wait a minute…

8/
Finchem states that he showed up at Ali Alexander-palooza at around 1:55pm.

This might be true, but knowing Finchem’s bootlicking tendencies, he probably stayed for Trump’s entire speech.

The speech ended at 1:13. 48 minutes to walk. That puts us at the earliest 2:01.

9/
Here’s what doesn’t make sense:

Finchem would have had to have walked behind the Capitol around the East side to get to the Ali Alexander Fiesta. He would have been walking around there somewhere between 1:50-2:10, based on his timeline.

10/
Again, Finchem states that he had no clue of penetration until 5:00pm.

So you’re telling me that Finchem walked by all these violent mobs on the east side of the Capitol (reported by Sherman and Sabila) and had...zero clue?

11/
He also states that the closest he got to the Capitol building was 500 feet away, but he took this picture at approximately 3:15pm with his iPhone.

Look, I’m not a tech guy, but there’s no way you can take a picture from 500 feet with an iPhone and have it be THIS clear.

12/
*record scratches*

WAIT look who is in that picture that Finchem shares- it’s Ali <3 and… ALEX F’ING JONES!!

So not only was Finchem at the “steps of the Capitol” before 5:00 pm, he was in the area of the guy that told him that the event was off only an hour earlier!

13/
So you mean to tell me that @MarkFinchem and his buddy Ali Alexander were at the event stage together, then this close to each other an hour-ish later, right outside the steps of the capitol, but Finchem had NO clue about the insurrection until 5:00 PM?

14/
Look, I’m not saying that Mark Finchem was inside of the Capitol building.

I’m just saying his story doesn’t make any sense. At all.

What is Mark Finchem trying to hide?
