"The time is always right to do what is right," but there is no better time than the present one at hand to do the necessary work to carry on the deeper legacy of MLK, not just the easy feel good parts.
Racism, poverty, and war are as prevalent as they've ever been and our resolve to dismantle them should reflect the intensity of the moment.
As we cannot truly unite America post-insurrection without reconciliation, we cannot realize King's dream without digging beneath the surface to address the deeper issues that continue to marginalize communities. This means taking into account all that continues to divide us.
Income inequality brought on by unchecked capitalism, lack of access to basic needs like education and healthcare, gender equality, justice reform, immigrant rights, environmental justice and so much more are all a part of the frontier to make the dream a reality.
