Thread on UFO skeptics: I have a lot of conversations that go like this.

Skeptic: There’s no evidence. Just wild, unsupported claims and blurry photos.

Me: What is the criteria for evidence you would find convincing? What if—hypothetically—we had former heads of state, an...
astronaut who walked on the moon and senior government/military officials who all came forward and admitted there was a coverup? And what if the CIA published millions of pages of documents on their website outlining the whole thing. Would that convince you?
Skeptic: Yes, THAT would convince me.

Me: Great because all of that has happened. Let me show you...

Skeptic: That doesn’t prove anything.

I used to be a debunker of this stuff. Not only did I not believe, I did not WANT to believe. I was deeply offended by the possibility of this stuff being true. And when I ask myself why, here’s the answer I got: if this stuff is real, you have to take responsibility for this...
information. If there’s an ET coverup, you have to expose it. If consciousness is real and causative and the universe is teleological, then we aren’t victims of a random mechanical reality. We must take responsibility for our thoughts and our own happiness. This information...
demands radical responsibility from those who acknowledge it, and that is a lot to ask of people. For that reason we must have empathy for people who struggle to confront this information. And this community must set the example that you can incorporate this stuff into your...
paradigm without becoming paranoid, dysfunctional losers incapable of living happy normal lives, because I believe ultimately it is that fear of the personal cost of acknowledging this stuff that holds people back from truly confronting it.
