Today is #MLKDay
and I generally would share words of encouragement to all who choose to live a life worthy of Dr. King’s sacrifices and legacy. However, today I’m quite simply exhausted. 1/5

Our country is tiresomely fractured and hate set free to roam our streets. Disdain for freedom and liberty that extends to the oppressed - to those whose broken backs built this nation, has been liberated from the shadows and encouraged to scream its contempt for equality. 2/5
So, rather than remind you that "the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice," I will instead lift you up in prayer that the burdens we bear as people of good conscience do not break us. 3/5
I will pray that although justice tarries and we struggle to stand under the weight of prejudice and exploitation, we find space to rest, to heal, to be loved, and to feel safe. 4/5
I will pray that we find a flicker of hope that can be nursed into pockets of joy which give us a reason to dream past this broken reality. 5/5
