Here it is...the first time ever in human history that black people and white people were seen in an ad together.

“Boys on a Bench” 🧵👇
Following the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. the Coca Cola Company realized that, as one of the nation's most culturally significant brands, they had a role to play in taking a stand against racism.
So the company produced "Boys on a Bench", an iconic shot captured by photographer Jay Maisel in New York City.
Look closely at the setting - the boys are gathered on a segregated bench.

Look even closer. Their knees are touching.
Remember, in 1969, this was all completely taboo.

A powerful message of togetherness and inclusion.
As we honor a great man and his vision for America that is yet to be realized, take a moment to think about the ways you can help create a more inclusive world.

Love,
Jonathan
