The Marriage of Aisha (RA)
{A Thread 🧵}
Bismillah.
The Marriage with Aisha RA most criticized argument in recent history but we make such arguments since you only have one Hadith and no basis to it.
This argument is used to yo claim pedophilia since Aisha RA was married at a young age even though it completely destroys the meaning of Pedophilia
Aisha RA herself says in a Hadith that one’s a girl has seen menses she becomes a woman.
The Quran and Hadith also suggested that a girl can be Married after reaching Menes and when she’s physically and mentally ready.
And many Critics of Islam have claimed that menses can most possibly only begin in early teens but studies have shown that menses can start faster in hotter climates.
Further studies show that menses began faster before than today.
Child marriages have been so common in the past since common sources believe that it originated from ancient India
Non Muslim orientalists have been coming up with answers on how to this could be not seen as pedophilia since It was a common practice in the past and laws of these marriages were mostly abolished during. As stated here.
The reason why these marriages were so common was because the life expectancy was horrible during those times since they never had medicine or health care like the modern times and to preserve the lineage because humanity would’ve died out if they waited until they’re 18.
It was seen as necessary in most cultures in the past.
Non Muslim orientalists have come to the reason that the marriage with Aisha is not seen as pedophilia since the Prophet was only following his culture.
The age of consent cannot be taken into factor since that law was only bought in the 1800s
Furthermore Aisha RA has also narrated over 2000 Hadiths and was possessive over the Prophet pbuh by making fun of his first wife Khadijah RA.
The Issue of marrying young has been a norm in history with some of the examples being.
So in conclusion this criticism is baseless and has no meaning to it other than just to criticize Islam and that it should historically and culturally seen as appropriate.
