We know how they harassed youngsters going to school and tuition classes in each Sentry points in the name security. We know how they abused women while doing body checking.
Now you can claim there are few bad apples from the basket. The point is what we got in North is only bad apples. That’s the reality.
I’ve already shared how my father and myself physically threatened by the forces back in 90s. I can share how they kept me and my two friends under a tree, on knees pointing gun back of my head when we were going to tuition.
I can share how two of my friends sexually abused in a sentry point early morning when they were going to football practice in school. And one guy stopped coming to practice and tuition classes afterwards.
I can share how we were mentally and physically threatened by the Army and Police during a check in Dehiwala after the LTTE air raid based on a wrong tip from our “dear” neighbor from majority.
I can share how I was mentally threatened on Wellawatta-Dehiwala Bridge road block in the name of security.
I can share how Army shot my friend in Vavuniya Agriculture School and threatened us not to conduct a final ritual parade in our school.
I can share how Army partnered up with paramilitary groups like PLOTE and EPDP in Vavuniya and exploited the school boy’s lives. How they provided alcohol and made the youngsters addicted to it. Many from our batched dropped out school in ALs and joined the groups.
I can share how people traveling on buses and trains were treated like criminals in the name of security check ups. Elders and children had to woke up from sleep early mornings and kept on queues in cold weather.
I can share how I was badly treated in police station when I went to take a police report for my first job. I had to wait day by day and treated like a criminal. Before my eyes they gave a VIP treatment for a girl from my batch just because her father runs a big business in Vav.
I can share how I was mistreated by the police in marine dr during a road accident with US embassy employee. Realizing I’m a Tamil the police started threatening me and ordered me to leave the area without making any complaint even though i did nothing wrong.
