Manchester City defence (THREAD)

Man Citys defence has been outstanding this season, making the City defenders great assets in FPL. But looking closer to it, which City defender is the best to own?

In the last 9 PL games, City have kept 7 clean sheets. The defenders, mainly Ruben Dias, John Stones and Joao Cancelo, have racked up points during this time. In my thread I will compare these players attacking threat and rotation risk, to conclude who is the best one to own.
PL starts since GW 10

Stones: 8/9
Dias: 9/9
Cancelo: 7/9

All three are pretty nailed, especially Dias who has started every game since GW 10, but we can notice that Cancelo is the one who gets rested most often, which is logical considering his competition at the full back.
Attacking threat

Stones vs Dias vs Cancelo

xG/90: 0.09 vs 0.08 vs 0.04
xA/90: 0.01 vs 0.00 vs 0.25

These numbers show that, despite having the worst xG/90, Cancelo possesses the main attacking threat with his expected assist per 90 being outstanding. —>
—> However, the game against Palace showed that both Stones and Dias can deliver attacking returns despite having worse stats than Cancelo.

Joao Cancelo (£5.8)

Pros:
⁃Best attacking threat✅
⁃First choice full back✅

Cons:
⁃Expensive❌
⁃Slight rotation risk❌
Ruben Dias (£5.8)

Pros:
⁃100% nailed✅

Cons:
⁃Expensive❌
⁃Worst attacking threat❌
John Stones (£5.1)

Pros:
⁃Nailed✅
⁃Cheap✅

Cons:
⁃Not very much attacking threat❌
So who is the best asset then? For me it is John Stones, since he’s much cheaper then the portuguese duo and still delivers, but after him Cancelos attacking threat edges it for me, despite the fact that Dias is as nailed as possible.

🥇Stones
🥈Cancelo
🥉Dias
