Upbringing : Drake was brought up in Toronto Canada . His family was very musically involved , father being a drummer for the legendary Jerry Lee Lewis . The 6 God’s background is unique , mother being a white Canadian Jew and father being African American catholic . (1/2)
Drake has always claimed to be a “ Black Man “ as he’s ‘ more immersed in Black culture than any other ‘ . His parents divorced at the age of 5 and lived with his mother . He attended a Jewish school and lived in a predominantly Jewish area . (2/2 )
The Next Gen : Drake went on to grow up wanting to be an actor . In 2001 Drake appeared on Canadian Drama ‘’DeGrassi : The Next Gen ‘’ . The following year in 2002 he dropped out of school to pursue this career, staring on the show until 2009 .
The Change : Drizzy began to cross over into hip hop while still appearing on DeGrassi . He dropped his first mixtape in 2006 named “ Room For Improvement “ , selling 6K copies . Followed by in 2007 the release of Comeback Season , on his own OVO imprint.
Drake then went to be took off the DeGrassi cast as the producers overhauled the cast in 2008 . This left Drake going towards a day job as his music didn’t give his a sufficient income . However early 2008 he received a very unexpected call from Lil Wayne which changed everything
Lil Wayne : Lil Wayne asked Drake to come on board with him for his Carter 3 tour to Houston . After touring with Wayne , Drake released his 3rd Mixtape ‘ So Far Gone ‘ in 2009 featuring ‘ Best I Ever Had ‘ which peaked #2 on Billboard .
Going Big : A bidding war appeared for Drakes signature as mid 2009 he signed a deal with Lil Wayne’s YME .
Drake went to release his 1st Studio album ‘ Thank Me Later ‘ on June 15 2010 which went to debut #1 and went platinum . (1/2)

In November 2011, he released his second studio album, ‘Take Care’.

On Top : In 2013 Drake dropped third studio album ‘ Nothing Was The Same ‘ an album reflecting Drakes personal struggles for success . He wanted to make clear his place in Hip Hop wasn’t a ‘fluke ‘ and ‘ wasn’t easy ‘ . Success carried into 2015 dropping 2 mixtapes (1/2)
First being ‘IYRTITL’ a solo mixtape with features from Travis Scott . PND and Lil Wayne . Second mixtape joined with trap artist ‘Future ‘ to create ‘What A Time To Be Alive ‘ . These two mixtapes went huge and IYRTITL just missed out on a Grammy at the 2015 awards (2/2)
Views : Views was Drakes 4th Studio album , it was an instant success for Driz . The album debuted at no.1 spending 13 consecutive weeks at the top of billboard. Views included iconic hit ‘Hotline Bling ‘ which went to win him Grammy wins for best rap song and ... (1/2)

Awards : The life at the top continued as in 2017. Drake was the big winner at the Billboard Music Awards. He took home 13 awards including top artist, top male artist, top Billboard 100 album, top Billboard 200 artist , top hot 100 artist , breaking Adele's record .
Hits : Drake dropped mixtape More Life in 2017 which was a different approach to his music than fans had seen in the past . With many UK artists featuring and a more modern feel than we have ever seen with Driz . However the year after Drake went to drop Scorpion (1/4)
After opening 2018 with the two-song EP Scary Hours, Drake dropped two singles, "Nice For What" and "I'm Upset," in advance of the June release of his fifth studio album, Scorpion. Scorpion shattered streaming records over its first 24 hours. (2/4)
