Its Frank Quitely's Birthday. You probably know his major works, so lets look at his anthology contributions, one-offs, and other odds and ends.
Probably the first place Americans saw FQ's work is in DHP 91-93 in 1994.
Flex was out of print for a long time. The trade has been recolored. Really strong work on a complex, demanding story. The first of several outstanding Morrison collabs.
This series ran as three issue arcs, with Quitely starting it out. Recommended.
Another FQ/Morrison joint. Its a weird war tale, no doubt about it.
This is one I don't have, so I stole this pic and have no interior images. Looks like another good Vertigo anthology.
Like Flex, this belongs with a list of his major works, but it belongs here chronologically. Its an ogn, and a pretty good one.
Another I dont have and am just discovering. Probably tough to get a hold of in the states.
This one is really fun, on the lighter side of Kingdom Come. Super cool to see FQ's take on these characters.
A nice start to another excellent Vertigo horror anthology with FQ keeping good company
FQ is really the king of creepy Vertigo anthologies.
Another Im missing, but I bet its great. And again, if judged by the company you keep, FQ was at the top of the list pretty early.
FQ's second flinch story, and its a doozy.
Dont forget Transmet 31 has some FQ in there
FQ's second DC OGN, and his third Morrison team-up.
Vol 3 of Invisibles ends (with issue 1, it ran backwards from 12) with Vinny being inked by someone else, John Stokes, as he was on The Authority preceding this with Scott Hanna, and New Xmen proceding it with Tim Townsend
There's a a very pretty FQ story tucked away in this full size gn anthology
Awfully pretty work from Quitely in this Sandman anthology
This is a weird one. An anthology, the theme being 'Peace', if I remember correctly.
Apparently FQ contributed stories, with Alan Grant, to this drug mag, issues 1-11, from '99-'05
