economically blocked countries might have an easier time thanks to bitcoin. it may not be fashionable for the environment but there's nothing you can DO for poor countries under bad governments and demonizing this hurts us more than anything
economy is already oppressive, especially from a third world country. depending on US dollars globally makes or breaks a country's market. if the US gov decides they don't like a country, everyone in there suffers. decentralized money fixes this
and YES it has its bad sides but like, my family back in vzla is surviving thanks to this. imagine this made up digital good, a number on the screen, is the difference between living or dying. it's very hurtful to see people assume everyone using bitcoin is a fool
also, a good reminder: ALL money is made up. we're all playing along assigning value to paper and pieces of metal. all money can be used for ~bad things~
i get a lot of people are just passing along a post without thinking much or being really involved but it hurts to see it. i've sustained myself with bitcoin too- it's not a luxury. it's an opportunity to keep going for us
