A Thread on Gitas

We all know the bhagvad gita is everyone's favourite scripture and the most famous and the most commented one.

What if i told you that there are more gitas? not 1 or 2 but 25+ gitas

Yes , You read that right. Gita Sangrah (by gitapress) provides a list of 25 gitas

And there are more!! like ribhu gita , shiva gita etc

I will be summarizing few of them.

Ganesh Gita : This is part of Ganesha Purana and in this Sri Ganesha gives knowledge to Raja Varenya . It has karma yoga , gyan yoga , upasana yoga . Total 11 chapters are there

Sri Ganesha also shows his Vriraath Roopa to Raja Varenya

Devi Gita : This is part of Devi bhagvata puran and in this Adi shakti gives knowledge to Himalayas . It contains Bhakti yoga , Gyan yoga . Total 10 chapters are there.

Devi Maa also shows her Viraath Roopa to Himalayas

Ashtavakra gita : This gita is a unique one , in this Ashtavakra muni gives knowledge to Raja Janaka.
This mostly has teachings from pure Advaita's perspective. It contains 20 chapters.

Ram Gita : This is part of Adbhut Ramayana , in this Sri Ram gives knowledge to Bhagwaan Hanuman.
It has Samkhya , Upaniṣads Siddhanta, Bhakti-Yoga. It contains 4 chapters.

Another Gem

Avadhuta Gita : This gita is rather the most difficult one to understand , in this Bhagwan sri dattatreya ji gives knowledge from pure perspective of Advaita. It contains 8 chapters.
