Our left brigade has tried hard to prove that there was no right to education for Indian women before Savitri bai phule. Or, that dalit womens were not allowed in school.

Let's discuss about this issue.
In 19th century, British surveyed about this issue and made a report on the basis of data 1800-1850.

That time dharmpal ji complied the data in his book "The beautiful tree".

According to the data, there were many college and schools running with the help of Brahmins.
In this report they mentioned that ratio of shudra was higher than Kshatriyas Vaishya and Brahmins.

Because the academicians wanted to focus on poor.

In those schools, dhobi, nai, chamar, kumbhar were also appointed as teacher.
But number of women waslower than boys because that time womens got educated in their homes. This was due to fear of Mughals and Britishers.

In these schools they arranged classrooms for skills like stitching, embroidery, painting, cooking etc only for womens.
Thomas Munroe wrote in his report of 1827 that the literacy percentage was 100%.

Now the question is that if percentage of education was 100% then who was responsible for this cause?

Savitri bai phule was born in 1831. So, how women were uneducated untouchable that time?
Note: Savitri bai loved to read Bible since her childhood. She got educated in the missionary school.

But what was her qualification?
Class 8th?
