What are the things that bothers me about the Trump insurrection is the way it makes me wonder if I’m just being overly paranoid or if there are much much larger forces at work here than what we realize. I’m talking about foreign interference and motivation. 1/
When you follow the money trail on the insurrection, you see that a lot of these buses and hotels were paid for by far right groups. THEY got the money through big (>$500K) anonymous donations from foreign money laundering sources. 2/
Half $1 million, $1 million… This is exceedingly cheap agent provocateur stuff. You can’t even fire a missile from a jet for under $1 million.
The Russians, the Iranians, the Chinese… somebody has been pouring money into insurgent groups here in the US to destabilize us.

The NRA is one of the crown jewels on this. They’ve been taking tons of Russian money and stirring up all kinds of foment for decades. But it makes me wonder what are the other big groups that are doing the same thing, on both sides of every issue.

We open ourselves up for this, of course. Citizens United was a ruling that more or less completely through open our elections to dark money manipulation. And the opacity of campaign finance is such that we can’t tell where these groups are getting their money from originally. 5/
And any foreign government that wants to know how to dump money into radical insurgencies in order to destabilize the government only has to look at our own CIA.

Deprogramming all the MAGA people will be an enormous task all by itself, even if they wanted help, and even without the GOP fighting every step of the way to avoid admitting what they’ve become and what they’ve done.

A lot of people have noted how weird it was that some of these “protesters” seem to have *extremely* detailed knowledge of the building’s layout. Hallways, back stair, offices, who worked where, what was the public facing office, what was the private office, etc.

This woman seems to be very clearly directing the crowd towards a specific location. Towards Pelosi’s office. And this is the woman who stole government laptops with a plan to sell them to a contact in Russia.
