Eugenics I’d definitely argue exists heavily in the fitness community/industry, especially when you look at areas like competitive sports. ESPECIALLY bodybuilding. As I’ve said in the past, there’s a reason you rarely see, for example openly LGBT young athletes in those groups

Especially of the “masculine” type. Society is raised/trained to attribute many of those qualities you see exhibited by people like that, to heterosexuality, as they’re often seen as “desirable”. There’s a reason “straight acting” often describes those traits.

On top of that, there’s the general fears people have in those communities, like being dropped by sponsors in bodybuilding due to the heavily conservative base, or being quickly forgotten in the NBA or NFL, or being treated differently, it’s all designed intentionally.

You look at the the Olympics for example, and how out of 2000+ American athletes there are only like 8 LGBT people, and those olympians admitted there were a LOT of closeted athletes they knew of. I’ve heard stories of agents advising athletes stay closeted. It’s a mess even now

I went on a date with a young discreet bi bodybuilder, and the dude straight up told me he’d probably never come out because he wanted to pursue being a competitive bodybuilder and make it big like Jeff Seid, David Laid, McKenna Dylan, etc. playing straight was “just easier”

It’s not like the gay community does much to mitigate this either. Many of the popular porn actors are “straight” G4P stars that drop that shit quickly, kick it under the rug and go on to become big time fitness models and professional bodybuilders.

Having worked out and been friends with and been around competitive bodybuilders my age, yeah, I’ve asked them often if they knew anyone that acted like them that was openly LGBT and dating someone of the same sex and making it big in that industry, it’s often a resounding “no”

It really has me wondering if this mold will ever get broken in these industries, but then I remember, as I said before, how heavily conservative/conservative pandering these groups are, and how they uphold societal status quo’s rarely challenged, and know it won’t be for awhile
