Today is also John Hume’s (heavenly) 84th birthday.

Leadership inspires leadership...

John Hume often cited #MLK as the inspiration for our civil rights movement. ⬇️
Comparisons were highlighted when John Hume received the MLK Jr Peace Prize in Atlanta in 1999.

Coretta King, widow of MLK, praised John Hume for demonstrating “the power of one person that provided a spark of leadership that provided a way out of no way”. ⬇️
Both these men had dreams & vision of a better tomorrow. They showed courage in calling out social injustices & challenging the status quo.

As we reflect on the immense challenges of today, this #BlueMonday, let’s gather strength & let’s find a way to build a fairer world. ⬇️
Let’s redouble our efforts in challenging human rights violations.

Let’s stand up for climate justice.

And we shall overcome...
