On the issue of how quickly a rejoin campaign takes a hold, well I think it depends on a lot of things - no idea why people are so absolutely positive it’s the wrong thing to do straight away!
Let’s see how quickly people get fed up with cabbage for dinner again! Thread 1/

It didn’t take more than a few months to turn a small group of people from not caring a toss about Eu membership to turning the EU into the devil incarnate in their heads. Enough people to get leave over the line I mean. 2/
Yes even with all the cheating and the lying and the years of fake headlines about Germans and pool towels and refugees and gravy trains they still only got a small majority back in 2016. 3/
My point is we have no idea how quickly people will start to feel this was a big mistake. So why rule the possible out. We need to witness the problems, keep pointing them out, keeping watching and talking about what is happening in the EU. 4/
The US EU relationship is about to get very strong again and they don’t need us to help them do that. When Brits start to feel the cold outside, when they see the reality, they may start feeling very differently. Why rule potential futures out for our country right now? 5/
One thing we know, a false view of national pride was used to fog people’s judgement- well national pride is not going to help the fishing industry or farmers and it’s not going to thrive that well whilst our global influence has been so damaged by the Brexit government. 6/
So we need to keep calling out lies that’s for sure. Why perpetuate their biggest lie of all? We can’t thrive outside the EU and by shutting down our possibilities now it will make it much harder to pivot to the best solutions in the future. 7/
I am not saying we necessarily have to have parties supporting a full on rejoin campaign but they need to be careful about their language. Atm they are appeasing the EU haters only! They need to be careful what they wish for! 8/
But whatever the parties do or say, there is nothing stopping us keeping truth and possibility out in the open and on our agenda. An ongoing conversation. Let’s not shy away from truth or from saying how we feel. END/
