Adjusting for age, the #COVID19 mortality rate in December was

▪️ 233.6 deaths per 100,000 people in England
▪️ 374.4 deaths per 100,000 people in Wales

Yorkshire and the Humber was the English region with the highest #COVID19 mortality rate in December, with 320.5 deaths per 100,000 people.

In England, the #COVID19 mortality rate was more than 2.5 times higher in the most deprived areas than the least deprived in December:

▪️ least deprived – 152.3 deaths per 100,000 people

Similarly in Wales the #COVID19 mortality rate in the most deprived areas was nearly twice the mortality rate in the least deprived areas in December:
