-leans into mic whispering-
Could it be that the media corporations greenlighting most most modern TVs/Movies are more interested in cyberpunk's aesthetics than the anti-capitalist/establishment themes at the heart of the genre?

If you want real cyberpunk, might I suggest books? https://twitter.com/SFXmagazine/status/1109159817464238082
A couple modern recommendations to get you started:

The Quantum Thief: Various transhuman factions use a galaxy wide civilisation of immortal citizens to further their own agendas. Time is a currency, robotic indentured servitude is mandatory, memory is a lie. Good luck...
Luna: New Moon

Corporations bought the moon. They own the air in your lungs, the water in your tank. Rich or poor, you wanna get anywhere in life? You better be ready to pick your corp and risk your life for a system that will grind you into space dust if you step out of line.
I honestly feel like with the increasing onset of late stage capitalism, cyberpunk as a genre is more relevant than ever. But there's way more to the genre than neon lights in the city, chrome in your body and sex bots to keep you warm at night.

Any other recommendations?
Huh, this blew up. I don't have a soundcloud but if you want to support a small creator why not check out @TeamDigiSprite?

If you like anti-capitalism, Adventure Mart is a game where you sacrifice your employee's souls to the glossy eyed cutesy mascots of multiversal-capitalism!
