I think I stumbled onto something important. It looks like Rep. @MarkFinchem used his campaign funds to fly to DC for the #stopthesteal riot & insurrection. On 12/28 he spent $616.20 for a "meeting in DC w/ Republican Caucus." To be clear: I am speculating here, but check it out.
As you can see in my last tweet, on 12/11 @MarkFinchem also spent $625 on American Airlines for a "Meeting in DC." Not sure if this is the same meeting, meaning maybe he bought two one-way tickets, the first to DC, the second home, or whether he was in DC a few weeks before.
I can't say if it is illegal to pay his way to DC this way, I actually doubt it. But this would put a DIRECT CONNECTION between @markfinchem campaign donors & his role in the #stopthesteal stuff on 1/6. Not good for donors like @dbacks Kendrick & @apsfyi.
One other thing about this: @markfinchem as of 12/31/20 only had $1,295.44 left in his campaign account. That includes buying the airplane tickets & the $500 12/31/20 donation by @apsfyi. Did Finchem use that last donation and what was left in his account for hotel while in DC?
We won't know if @markfinchem used campaign funds for a hotel in DC on 1/6 until his next finance report. But (someone correct me here) the way our terrible campaign finance laws are written in AZ, he and all the other legislators don't have to file their next report until 2022!
If I'm right, & he doesn't have to file until 22, we won't know what campaign money he spent while in DC. More importantly, we won't know what DONATIONS he & others like @WendyRogersAZ accepted around & after the insurrection they helped foment. The one @markfinchem was in DC for
All this info & reports are online if you want to look into this yourself. If you are investigating, one loose @MarkFinchem end to explore is the high number of even-numbered anonymous donations in his report. many $50 & $40 donations he claims are from "multiple contributors."
