In relationships, if u keep fighting about the same thing and making no progress, you're prob not fighting about what u think u're fighting about: it's about something bigger / less obvious. Eg It's not about who's emptying the dishwasher but what labor is valued and who is seen
The same is true of the arguments about voter fraud. The right keeps yelling about fraudulent vote counts, and the left keeps responding with math, irrefutable proof and solid legal evidence.

But the fight isn't about that.
The fight is about conservative white people's votes counting MORE despite being in the minority.

This was the planned status quo, a promise in the Constitution itself: voting is for white, landowning men, And it is re-promised in a number of Amendments that followed.
The Electoral College is the glaring one, but there are many, including fixing the House of Representatives at 435 members despite a growing population increasingly concentrated in cities that remains underrepresented.

This is why the right brings up the Constitution so often:
they mention the wrong sections, most frequently focusing on an inaccurate interpretation of the 1st and 2nd Amendments, bending them to the point of meaninglessness, but they're not wrong that the Constitution is on their side.
The promise WAS white supremacy and millions of people being un- or under-represented. The promise was minority rule. This is the betrayal the right is arguing about whether they are able to articulate it or not. (Pedophilic Hollywood vampires aside🙄)
The right also has history on their side: for most of US history, minority rule has been only slightly modified because their fight to keep those modification slight has largely been successful - rolling back every advance little by little.
(The examples are myriad: Civil War --> Jim Crow, suffrage ≠ black women, the war on contraception + abortion to keep women where they belong, the distraction of "culture wars," gerrymandering, stacking courts to erode racial progress, released felons can't vote and on and on.)
Keeping the white male supremacy band together has been hard work - it has required increasingly Macchiavelian schemes across all 50 states and has entailed Olympic-level moral gymnastics. But luckily there are a lot of white ppl willing to do it because it's personal to them.
So when we continue to quarrel over the dinner table and in court and on Twitter, hoping for a breakthrough, let's remember that the math they are quarreling about is not counting every vote. The math is about counting only the votes that were supposed to be counted.
This is VERY hard math to keep executing as white men and the women who agree with them are even more than originally in the minority. But they do have one thing right: it is the planned natural order in our republic.
That's what the argument is about: fair or not, it wasn't supposed 2 b this way, every vote counting equally.
