I keep seeing people say that Kovačić is not an attacking midfielder and he isn't. But he's sure not a defensive midfielder either. So, what is he?!?

Name me one, just one, important midfielder for a team, EVER, that wasn't either an attacking or defensive contributor.

He's not creative, his weighting of passes are a disgrace, he's got the worst shot I've seen from a Chelsea player, he doesn't make unsettling movement in the final 3rd, he doesn't track runners, his positioning off the ball is poor, his work-rate is not impressive.

He doesn't influence games AT ALL.

He was POTY last season? Cool. Well, that was last season and the only reason he won it was because we had a squad full of sh*t and all our other good players(Kantè, James, Mount, Tammy, Pulisic, Giroud etc) went through injury spells...

that either kept them sidelined or caused their performances to go down(playing through pain).

I don't get why he should be so protected on here. You keep saying you want the best for Chelsea when you want Lampard out and yet you include Kovačić in your starting XIs.

Puzzling.

He seems like a great guy, he has won a lot(albeit he was never a massive part of any of the CL or league wins he has been a part of). He's clearly a good dribbler and someone who isn't easily removed from the ball but winning football...

games isn't about keeping hold of the ball in the middle of the pitch, it's about putting the ball into the opposition's net while keeping it out of your own.

Does he help do any of those things?
