Hey LA- I know we are enjoying these fake summer days, but the weather is going to take a significant turn for the worse tomorrow night. 75mph wind gusts in the valleys. And it's really dry. So check your wildfire go bag, and make sure you are ready for a prolonged power outage. https://twitter.com/NWSLosAngeles/status/1350898320114257922
Even folks who aren't in wildfire zones may have issues tomorrow- the wind is going to reach areas that typically aren't affected. Check your flashlights. Make sure that there isn't outdoor stuff that could blow away. Make a plan with your family.
Bringing this thread back, hopefully for the last time in a while before the rains really come. Get ready to go now. Wildfire season is year-round in California. https://twitter.com/Jdlazo/status/1303498664661327873?s=20
Oh yeah, as a friend just noted... if you haven't taken down outdoor holiday decorations/lights, now is the time. Otherwise they may blow away, or could even spark a fire.
The air quality is also going to be rough. Luckily we are all already wearing masks outside. But it might even smell smoky without a fire, if ash from previous fires blows your way: https://twitter.com/SouthCoastAQMD/status/1350927446720319500?s=20
