It started w/ a call from @NASA to @NASA_Johnson to participate in the 2009 Inaugural Parade of @BarackObama & @JoeBiden w/ Lunar Electric Rover. LER
It was an honor to attend.
This year the @BidenInaugural Committee is denying the United States citizens of that honorable moment.

I designed the rims that were interfaced with non-pneumatic tires w/ @MichelinUSA.
I also designed the differentials & the [PBB] Payload Battery Box which I will post in the thread.

The Potomac River forms part of the borders between Maryland & Washington, D.C.
The Washington Monument was visible from the base we stayed.
The winds off the frozen Potomac River were unforgettable & unforgiving to this Texan.

The SEV [LER] is the size of a small pickup truck, it has 12 wheels, & can house 2 astronauts for up to 2 weeks. The SEV consists of a chassis & cabin module. The SEV will allow the attachment of tools such as cranes, cable reels, backhoes & winches.

13mph (23mph gust) winds off the frozen Potomac River punished us Texans for what seemed like an eternity but being part of history was an honor.
Even the co-worker from Michigan agreed that it was so cold that the politicians had their hands in their own pockets

I didn't vote for either of them despite it being on honor to be there.

The naming convention of the Space Exploration Vehicle has been through several names.

It was called the Lunar Electric Rover during the Inaugural Parade Obama & Biden.

We called it the Lunar Truck before we added the pressurized module.
Testing the SEV:

We had less than 2 months to prepare for the Inauguration.
We had just finished the 2nd SEV & I was averaging over 80 hrs/week.

The Robotics Dept at JSC NASA was working on the SEV & at the same developing version 2 with GM of the most advanced humanoid in the world that now resides on the International Space Station [ISS].

The Inauguration was expected to be the largest crowd ever.

Obama got 69 million votes, 873 counties & 18/19 bellwether counties.
Biden supposedly got 81million votes, 477 counties & 1/19 bellwether counties.
The public is denied the right to attend a military transfer of power.

The USA has led the way in space exploration, research & development that has led to so many products that many of us take for granted. Much like our freedoms.

After Obama & Biden took office they eventually reduced funding to NASA etc. & what happened next was very predictable.

The Shuttle program was wrapping up while the Obama Administration dragged their feet with a viable option for returned to manned space flights to the International Space Station as we were forced to rely on the Russians to deliver supplies & crew to the ISS.

I do feel for those denied the right to attend a military transfer of power.

However, the Obama Biden administration did very little if anything at all to protect us from foreign adversaries as they ramped up the use of Artificial Intelligence.
