decided to scroll the trending topics and saw someone saying the Phil Spector Christmas album isn’t that good. maam he killed that lady but the album is a banger. grow up
there’s a pervasive need in a lot of people and in da discourse where if a person is bad or has bad opinions, then all of their creative output is bad, which just isn’t true and doesn’t lead us to process when good artists do bad things very well
separating the art from the artist doesn’t mean you pretend their sins didn’t happen. by refusing to admit that bad people can make good art it leads people to defend someone on the basis of their art, which is how roman polanski still gets standing ovations
