I think some national writers get so excited by the idea of a deal that they don't take a moment to think about the logic of it.
Also, we've reached the point where the idea that the "NL Central is weak and can be taken by anybody" is turning into, "there's no harm in trading more of their better players because they might still be able to win."
I should clearly state that I don't buy the rumors that are going around to be real. I was trying to point out that the people with whom the rumors are starting don't have a whole lot of logic in their thought process.
