Crosses per game in the PL this season:

Aston Villa - 17.1
Liverpool - 15.5
Leeds United - 15.1
Chelsea - 14.5
Arsenal 14.3

1. Crossing isn't a bad way of creating chances.

2. A lot of good teams cross the ball plenty. There are a variety of ways to play football, this is one.
The entire "Chelsea is a cross and hope team" is absolute bullshit. That's what it is. Do we rely on crosses? Yes we do. Why wouldn't we? We have Reece James, Ziyech, Hudson-Odoi and Chilwell - they are some of the best crossers in the league. Nothing wrong in it.
Before someone comes in with "oh but Guardiola wouldn't encourage crossing", these are City's numbers:

20-21: 10.8 (13th)
19-20: 16.2 (1st)
18-19: 15.9 (1st)
17-18: 15.3 (2nd)

With the exception of this season, they've always been a cross-heavy team. Nothing wrong with it.
"We don't create outside crosses" - By most metrics like xG and actual goals, Chelsea still have a top 2/3 offense in the league. Despite our bad form (and Lampard isn't blameless), we'll be fine. We need to improve but crossing is hardly a major concern.
There are two possibilities:

1. Crossing is our only strategy but it suits us so well that it has made us a top 3 offense by itself.

2. We do a lot more than just blindly cross and that's why we have a top 3 offense.

Feel free to pick either option, both work.
