Okay. I always talk about the anti-Blackness that I experienced as a child living in Asia. But, it’s important to also recognize that I had an exorbitant amount of privilege SPECIFICALLY because I’m American. I went to a private school, lived in a nice condominium (1/?)
where literally all our neighbors were Korean (thats another convo lol), we had a personal driver & two live in maids, etc. etc. Yes I experienced colorism & anti-black racism but my family had CAPITOL and we were still extremely privileged
Kids made fun of my skin color but once I opened my mouth and starting speaking perfect standard American English, I was INSTANTLY treated much differently. Anti-blackness is real but so are the privileges that come from being a citizen of the empire lmao

My experiences as a mixed Black Filipino AMERICAN were MUCH different than the experiences of mixed Black Filipino citizens who were born and raised there, for the exact reasons listed above.
