SETH WILLIAMS WR AUBURN - 2021 ROOKIE CLASS

@TheUndroppables

He’s a player that has fallen in the ranks and is getting slept on but has all the necessary traits and tools for NFL success.

There's a lot to ♥️ about Seth...

(a thread)
Seth Williams could be the steal of the NFL draft as well as be the steal in dynasty rookie ones.

Many think Williams had a bad Junior campaign. He didn’t ascend like we would have hoped. However, he still led the team in receiving yards and touchdowns. And as you can see, most of his receptions were big plays which is exciting.🔥
Compared to other WRs Williams’ numbers aren’t stellar. A lot has to do with the fact that he’s never had a great QB. He had Jarret Stidham in his final “off” year and he has had two years of Bo Nix, who has proven to be a below average college quarterback.✍️
Concerning...44% catch rate in 2020 but...compared to the other two significant Auburn WRs.

Williams 44% Catch Rate 16.2 Y/R
Schwartz 65% 11.8 Y/R
Eli Stove 82% 8.2 Y/R

Clearly a deep threat with a QB that didn't exploit...
Comps: Alshon Jeffery 6’3 216-lbs
Mike Williams 6’4 218-lbs
Mike Evans 6’5 225 (at Texas A&M)

Size of Jeffery, great hands of Willams but to me his overall game resembles Mike Evans to me, even if he is a few inches shorter.

Both Williams & Evans - always underappreciated...
Pros:
1. Big bodied but plays even bigger!
2. Contested catch champion
3. Faster and more explosive than many think - wouldn’t be surprised to see him test well at his Pro Day. (athletic)
4. tough to bring down - stiff arms; hurdles guys
5. great body control
6. great hands
Cons:
1. Isn’t a great route runner - perhaps affecting separation
2. "Some" believe he lacks consistent energy saying he's lazy at times
3. not all that elusive or twitchy (arguably not his game)
4. Concentration drops
It will be interesting how the NFL views Seth Williams. Range of where he gets drafted is quite big. I see him as a Day 2 player but could sneak up to Round 1 with great athletic testing or fall to Day 3.
As he falls because he isn’t getting the same attention as risers, I just see incredible value. There are not a lot of big potentially fast WRs in this draft that could be a bonafide star in the NFL if he lands with a real good QB to throw him the ball and unleash “the beast”.
Remember though. He’s been dominant, has the size and the awesome BOA. I also think he’s going to be athletic.

In summation:

I likey. I likey Seth Williams a lot.
